Turns out… My Heros have Heros
I’ve been fortunate to meet some of my heroes – people I’ve admired from afar (literally!) for years.
One of the more recent ones was Tarzan Kay, a renowned email marketing expert.
And it wasn’t just the in-passing “hi, nice to meet you” moment either. I had the rare chance to sit with her and ask questions.
Here’s the thing about meeting your heroes…
It’s surreal. For many reasons.
But one thing really stuck with me:
For a long time, I imagined these incredible people sat on an untouchable pedestal. But in talking to Tarzan, I realized something fascinating: she has her own aspirations, goals, and heroes she looks up to.
Success, I learned, is entirely relative.
No matter where you are in life, there will always be people ahead of you.
But that then means there will also be people behind you, too.
So, while you’re looking up at someone, there’s a good chance someone else is looking up at you.
Your actions, your courage, your persistence—they’re being watched.
Not in a creepy way, but in a quietly inspiring one.
So, here’s the challenge:
Be intentional with how you move through the world, and know that there’s a very good chance you are setting an example for someone else!
Take time to reflect:
Who inspires you and why?
Who might be inspired by you, and what example are you setting?
Have you ever met a hero? Was it surreal for you too?
