Picture this with me (…a true story)

They were up before sunrise, the protocols were followed to a T, and slowly the balloons swell – bringing the baskets into their required position.

They are ready when we are

The excitement is peaking. The wet grass paints our clothes as our footsteps leave trails in the morning dew.

We climb in, get the final safety briefing and hold our breath.

I look up to see the flames rushing to get the last air in, the pilot gives the signal and they release the weight that was keeping us on the ground…

And I understand.

To go up in anything you have to completely let go of everything holding you back.

With hot air balloons, it’s easy to see the weights.

Life’s weights are trickier to spot, but here are some clues:

• Your Thoughts: Is self-doubt that constant whisper of “you’re not ready yet”?
• Your Beliefs: How many of your limitations are simply beliefs you’ve never questioned?
• Your Habits: Which routines are actually anchors, secretly eating away at your energy and time?
• Your Circle: Are there relationships tethering you to old versions of yourself? Are you still letting “what will they think?” control your decisions?

Here’s the truth: Not a single one of these should have that kind of power over you.

You have to let that sh*t go!

I know this because a few short years ago, that was me.

I was a “retired” physio tentatively stepping into the online business world.

I surrounded myself with the smartest people I could find, enrolled in the best training programs, and dove headfirst into this new chapter.

But I was sure I was a fraud.

I believed people would never buy into my career change. I convinced myself that prioritizing family meant I could never truly succeed in business. So I kept things small, under wraps, playing it safe.

Until one day, when a prominent podcast host invited me to talk. I resisted – loudly. “I have nothing valuable to share,” I pleaded.

“Nonsense,” the host said. “Just come tell your story.”

So I did. And something magical happened around the five-minute mark. Something shifted inside me, and I knew there was no going back.

In that moment, I realized how wrong I’d been. I dropped those mental weights and stepped into a whole new chapter of my life.

Now it’s your turn.
